The workhorse oil-resistant elastomer. Excellent resistance to petroleum oils, hydraulic fluids, greases and diesel, with good abrasion and compression-set behaviour at a modest cost.

Why specify NBR
- Outstanding resistance to mineral oil, fuel and grease
- Good tensile and abrasion resistance
- Low compression set — holds sealing force over time
- Food-grade compounds available for winery and dairy duty
Where it fails
Poor resistance to ozone, weathering and strong acids. Not suitable for brake fluid, ketones or continuous sunlight exposure — specify EPDM instead.
We would rather talk you out of the wrong compound than sell you a part that comes back in three months. If the duty is borderline, send the operating conditions and we will say so plainly.
