A rubber works built on knowing the machine, not just the part

The business was started by Mr. Vasant Nivrutti Chaudhari, an engineer by training and temperament, on the principle that a rubber component cannot be quoted sensibly without understanding the assembly it sits inside. That habit — asking about the temperature, the fluid and the load before talking about price — is still how every enquiry here begins.

Over the years that approach earned the kind of customers a small works does not usually reach. Crompton Greaves in Nashik for motor and switchgear mountings. Balkrishna Industries at Aurangabad. Otsuka Chemical in Jaipur for chemical-duty components. Suyog Gurbaxani Funicular Ropeways for ropeway liners and mounts. Osaw Agro Industries in Haryana for agricultural machinery parts. Each of those relationships started with one component and grew because the part did what it was supposed to.

Today the plant runs 11 machines across compounding, compression and transfer moulding, rubber-to-metal bonding, post-curing, extrusion and in-house die making, on 2,000 sq. m. at MIDC Ambad. The catalogue on this site lists 115 components we hold tooling for. Roughly half of what leaves the works each month is not on that list at all — it was made to somebody's drawing, or reverse-engineered from the part they sent us.

We are a proprietorship, not a large company, and we do not pretend otherwise. What that buys you is that the person who answers the phone can walk to the press and look at your part.
